Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall blazoned:  Argent, an anchor paleways Azure entwined with a grape vine leaved and fructed Proper (Brown vine, Green Leaves, Blue grapes).  Attached below and to the sides is a Blue scroll inscribed "SERVICE ABOVE SELF" in Silver letters.

Symbolism
The unit is allocated to Rhode Island and Connecticut.  The colonial State seals of the first bear the anchor and of the second bear the grape vine.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 301st Medical Regiment on 13 May 1925.  It was redesignated for the 301st Medical Battalion on 4 July 1942.  The insignia was rescinded on 19 October 1959.

Argent, an anchor paleways Azure entwined with a grape vine leaved and fructed Proper (Brown vine, Green Leaves, Blue grapes).  
    Crest:   That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserves:  On a wreath of the colors Argent and Azure, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
